MTCA has sponsored two-day collaborative practice trainings in August 2009 and June 2010. In June 2010, we invited Chip Rose, a national trainer with the Santa Cruz Mediation Center. He has authored numerous articles about mediation and collaborative practice, which can be found on his website. The two-day training was co-sponsored by Vanderbilt University Law School ADR Society. Approximately 35 attorneys, therapists and financial professionals participated in the training. We expect to have additional training opportunities for new professionals and training updates for our existing members.
We plan to offer an additional 30-hour training course as an adjunct to our basic collaborative practice training. This training can take the place of the 40-hour basic mediation training, which must be completed during the year following a member’s registration for membership. More information will be made available regarding this 30 hour training.
